Once known as ‘Novelty’ or ‘Vandergaw’ cabbage, this heirloom variety adapted its new moniker of ‘All Seasons’ in 1886 because of its tolerance to a wide range of growing temperatures. The large, dense heads grow to about 10 inches in diameter and over 10 pounds in weight. All Seasons is a widely used cabbage for sauerkraut, but with its excellent flavor, can be used in a variety of dishes.
