Chives are a well loved perennial herb that have been cultivated since at least the Middle Ages of Europe, and have been used for thousands of years. The tasty, onion-flavored leaves of this plant are delicious used fresh, but can easily be dried or even frozen for later use. While commonly used to add flavor to potatoes or eggs, the culinary possibilities of chives are nearly endless. Even the dainty flowers are edible, and make for a delightful garnish!
