This aptly named melon was bred to be an early producer of truly delicious fruits, making it ideal for northern climates or areas with early and extreme summer heat. The large vines of this melon can reliably yield high amounts of 2-3 pound fruits. Like other cantaloupe varieties, the Delicious melon has a golden orange flesh that is sugary sweet. For best taste, allow to ripen on the vine until it easily slips off.
