Lovage is an herb with edible leaves, stems, and seeds that have a flavor similar to celery, but with hints of basil or anise. The yellow-green leaves of this pretty plant are often used in salads and soups, and also taste delicious in potato dishes. Lovage can grow quite tall, oftentimes up to four or five feet in height, and attract many beneficial insects if allowed to flower. This herb is perennial in zones 3-8.
