Developed to be a good candidate for the growing conditions in New York and the rest of the northeast, the New Yorker tomato is an early producer and relatively cold hardy. One of the first tomatoes to ripen in the garden, the New Yorker is a determinate variety that produces delicious and bright red beefsteak tomatoes. We love a few fresh slices of this tomato on a sandwich, but it is also great for canning!
